Every great dream begins with an idea.

That, or something like it, explains in one sentence how we came to Casa Emilia. And the little idea came about when we heard in 2020 from the owners of the neighbouring finca that Casa Emilia is to be given away into good hands. A first phone call and off we went with lots of tips in our hand luggage for a spontaneous weekend to Casa Emilia to pay her and the Cómpetanos a first shy visit. So we arrived sometime late in the evening in the dark, in a cottage near a white mountain village that we only knew from pictures and didn't really want to show itself yet. A few rays of sunshine the next morning with a first look outside, a walk to the village for some shopping and breakfast together on the terrace made the shyness disappear. This place made us dream with all its charm. Who are we? Christian and Nico, married and living in the tranquil Saarland. We love cooking, enjoying a glass of wine over good food with friends and family, and hiking in nature with our Vizsla dog Hazel.
